Our Values
Ceili Community shares the mission and values of its mother denomination, the United Methodist Church. This includes the UMC Social Principles and the Core Doctrines. These core values are specific to our community and represent areas on which we want to focus.
Radical Inclusion
At Ceili Community, we recognize inclusion is a journey, not a destination. We commit to always seeking ways to improve inclusion of people with disabilities, LGBTQ+ people, immigrants, ethnic minorities, and anyone who is being actively or has been historically marginalized.
Radical Hospitality
At Ceili Community we seek to make all people feel like they are a part of god's family. after all, God's desire and intention is the adoption of all people into the family! This includes invitation, welcome, sharing in meals, open communion without any restrictions, and invitation to baptism for people of all ages and abilities.
Radical Joy
In a dark and cynical world, Ceili Community seeks to be a place of deep joy and momentary fun. We joke, living countercultural to the world and its values of power and oppression. In joy, we transcend our current circumstances no matter how good or bad, without minimizing the pain of suffering.
Radical Generosity
Like the widow who gave her last penny in the Gospels, we seek to trust God will bless us if we continue to bless others. We are decimated to a generous open choice food store (pantry), a generous benevolence fund, and a faithful generosity of our time, talent, and tithe to serve our community.
